$45 million securities class-action settlement

Shareholders alleged Ryder overstated results from 2015–2020 by assigning inflated residual values to its fleet, understating depreciation and inflating earnings. The court approved a $45 million cash settlement and dismissed the case with prejudice.

$2 million EEOC race-harassment and retaliation consent decree

The EEOC alleged Black employees at Ryder’s Moreno Valley facility faced racial slurs and were fired within days of complaining. Ryder Integrated Logistics and Kimco Staffing agreed to pay $1 million each and accept injunctive relief, including training and complaint tracking.

Site founder alleges disability discrimination, retaliation, and a hostile work environment

In an EEOC Charge of Discrimination filed May 18, 2026, the site’s founder alleges Ryder System, Inc. discriminated against him because of a disability in violation of the ADA and retaliated against him in violation of Title VII. He alleges that supervisors Brian Weinstein and Jeff Wolpov subjected him to workplace bullying, intimidation, and harassment after Ryder acquired Dotcom Distribution. He also states that he closed the $5 million Pat McGrath Cosmetics account. These are the filer’s allegations; they have not been adjudicated.

$5 million last-mile driver misclassification settlement

About 950 California last-mile delivery drivers alleged Ryder and MXD Group misclassified them as independent contractors, denying minimum wage, overtime, rest periods, and expense reimbursement. The proposed settlement included $3.4 million for the class and a $100,000 claims fund.

$2.95 million wage-and-hour class-action settlement

Final approval covered 5,405 California truck drivers, warehouse associates, and material handlers who alleged unpaid and late wages plus denied meal and rest breaks from 2018–2024. Ryder denied wrongdoing.

NLRB found discrimination against 32 pro-union applicants

The National Labor Relations Board found Ryder System, Ryder Distribution Systems, and DPD discriminated against 32 applicants for supporting Teamsters Local 667, dominated a company-favored union, and refused to bargain. The Board ordered reinstatement and backpay with interest.

$390,000 COBRA-notice class settlement

About 23,200 former workers alleged Ryder’s COBRA notices omitted required information and directed people to a generic HR number instead of explaining enrollment. The agreement was awaiting court approval when reported.

A court-approved settlement covered 1,340 Ryder truck-driver employees who alleged the company failed to relieve them for meal breaks and failed to permit rest breaks.

Federal safety record includes repeat forklift-training violation

Good Jobs First’s Violation Tracker, drawing from OSHA enforcement data, lists dozens of Ryder safety and health violations. Examples include an initially $45,579 repeat forklift-operator-training citation settled to $8,000 in 2022 and $11,524 in penalties tied to walking-surface and forklift hazards in Topeka in 2024.

$1.031 million air-quality settlement

Ryder paid California for failing to conduct required annual opacity tests and maintain records on heavy-duty vehicles in its state fleet during 2008–2009. The settlement directed $773,000 to the Air Pollution Control Fund and $258,000 to a natural-gas maintenance-facility upgrade.

Ryder box truck struck stopped school bus; driver died and seven were injured

According to the Georgia State Patrol’s preliminary investigation, a Ryder box truck hit the rear of a school bus stopped to unload students on GA-4. Truck driver Johnathon Grayer, 25, died after pulling children from the bus; six students and the bus driver were injured. No published fault adjudication was found in the reviewed sources.
